Before Start Date of the New Hire
Responsible Department: Human Resources
- Collect employee resume
- Job description
- Signed offer letter
- Signed employee obligation agreement
- Background check (when applicable)
- Prepare new employee welcome letter
- Prepare welcome packet (physical or virtual) including: job description, welcome letter, mission and values of the company, etc.
- Assemble new hire welcome gift box
- Set up cubicle/office space with supplies
- Call or email employee:
- Confirm start date, time, place, parking, dress code, etc.
- Identify computer needs and requirements
- Provide contact name for orientation and offer a brief explanation of what to expect on Day 1
Responsible Department: Information Technology
- Issue building access/key card
- Prepare technology equipment and software
- Set up phone, if applicable
- Activate employee email
- Add employee to relevant email lists
- Activate other relevant systems: Salesforce, LogMeIn, others
- Supply network instructions
- Supply printer instructions
- Supply MS Office instructions
Day 1
